Good News - You Can Be Healed!
|

The Good News is: YOU CAN BE HEALED!
Are you battling sickness in your body? Have doctors told you there is nothing they can do? Has the devil told you that
you’re too far gone, that your case is too hard to be cured?
If you’re about to give up, don’t.
Jesus is greater than every disease. You CAN be healed!
God wants you well! It is God’s will that you be healed, that you live without sickness, that you live a long life, serving
Him with gladness.
Do you want to live? You can! Do you want to be healed? You can be!
Sickness comes from the devil. Satan causes sickness. The devil is the one who wants your body to break down and stop
working properly. The devil is the one who wants you dead.
Jesus said that “the thief [that’s the devil] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” John 10:10
The Holy Spirit inspired the Apostle Peter to describe Jesus’ earthly ministry like this: “How God anointed Jesus of
Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil;
for God was with Him.” Acts 10:38
Satan is the oppressor. Jesus is the healer. Satan is the one who brings sickness. Jesus is the deliverer.
Your healing is part of the great package called salvation.
Your healing is part of God’s plan of redemption. Redemption is a purchase; to redeem is to purchase. Jesus paid the price
of our complete salvation by shedding His blood on the cross. Jesus bore both our sin and our sickness as our Substitute.
The Holy Spirit inspired the prophet Isaiah to foretell the tremendous work of the Messiah: “Surely He has borne our
sicknesses and carried our pains … He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the
chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4,5
These verses reveal the good news that our bodily healing is included in the atoning work of Christ.
That they mean our physical healing – as opposed to what some term “spiritual healing” – is verified because the Holy
Spirit inspired the Apostle Matthew to quote Isaiah in the context of physical healing. In Matthew 8:1-17, we have the
healing of a leper, the healing of a servant with palsy, the healing of a woman suffering from deadly fever, the healing of
multitudes, and to sum it up, these marvelous verses: “And He [Jesus] cast out the evil spirits with a word, and healed all
who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, ‘He Himself took our infirmities
and bore our sicknesses.’” Matthew 8:16,17
Divine healing for your body is based on the grace of God that comes to us through our Lord Jesus Christ.
We do not earn physical healing anymore than we earn the forgiveness of our sin.
Both forgiveness and physical healing are given by God’s grace and received by our faith.
Healing is for YOU because healing is the will of God for ALL His children.
Jesus called healing the children’s BREAD. In His earthly ministry, a non-Jewish woman came to Him, seeking healing
and deliverance for her daughter. This woman was not part of God’s family, but she had faith in Jesus’ mercy. Jesus told
her, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” Matthew 15:28
Are you a child of God? If you have taken Jesus as your Lord, you are!
You are not a child of God just because you’re alive … just because you think you’re good … just because you belong to a
particular church … just because you sing along at church … just because you’ve been baptized.
You are a child of God because you have made the right decision about Jesus: first, to believe that He is the Son of God,
that He died for your sin, that God raised Him from the dead, that He lives today, and second, to call on Him, taking Him
as your personal Lord and Savior.
Once you are a child of God, healing belongs to you as much as forgiveness!
The Holy Spirit inspired David to write these sweet words: “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want … You prepare a
table before me in the presence of my enemies.” Psalm 23:1,5
Where is that table? It is here on earth – before you now! It is not in heaven, because you will have no enemies in heaven.
What is on that table? Among other things, physical healing!
The bread of healing has already been purchased and provided.
Your seat at the table has already been reserved.
Just come to the table!
Look up to Jesus and say, “Pass the bread, please!”
The devil will use unscriptural religious tradition to keep you from coming to the table and eating healing.
Throw out of your mind all his lies that destroy faith:
1. that God has some purpose in this sickness
2. that everything happens for a reason
3. that your healing may not be God’s will
4. that you may be suffering for the glory of God
5. that God is teaching you through sickness
6. that God will heal you in His time
7. that the day of miracles has passed away, or
8. that you are not good enough to be healed.
You are not healed because you are good enough, but because GOD is good enough!
How will you be healed?
One way is to pray the prayer of faith for yourself.
My Lord Jesus Christ spoke these life-changing words: “whatever things you desire, when you ask God for them in prayer,
believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24
WHEN YOU PRAY, before you see that you have healing, believe that you receive your healing.
When you pray, believe that you lay hold of healing right then as your present possession, and end your prayer with
thanksgiving because you consider the case closed.
Don’t put the having before the believing – that’s not the way to the desired answer.
Put the believing first, and leave the having to God.
Faith reckons its prayer answered when it says the Amen; God’s part is to make faith’s reckonings real.
When you switch from asking to thanking, it shows God that you believe you have received your answer. Regardless of
when your body changes, you are to stay in the place of faith, believing that you are, from that moment forward, the
healed. Believe that the Holy Spirit is at work in you, from the second you say “Amen” – to bring healing to pass in your
body. Let your expectancy increase – your faith will end in sight!
Pray this prayer for your own physical healing: “Heavenly Father, I come to You in the name of Jesus my Lord. I am Your
child. Therefore, healing belongs to me. Healing is bread for me. I boldly come to You, knowing that my healing IS Your
will. I ask You to heal my body now, from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. According to Your word, I now
believe that I receive my healing. I count my prayer answered this moment, so I switch to thanksgiving. Thank You,
Father, for healing me! I want heaven to make a record: I am a believer. I am a receiver of healing. I am not moved by
what I see or by what I feel. I am moved only by what I believe, and I believe God and His Word. Thank God I am healed.
Hallelujah! AMEN!”
